Listen Now: Mamanushka Storytime!

Every time I have shared my personal retellings of prophetic stories or a snippet of one that I narrated to my own children, you have all been so lovely and encouraging in asking for more!

So finally with a little push from Aiysha, inspiration from our favorite Al-’Isra’ wal-Mi‘raj resources and the stealing of quiet moments here and there I was able to write and record for you guys, in true Mamanushka style, a full narration of one of the most exciting stories from the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbbuh).

I told the story this way to my own four and seven  year old and it has the perfect amount of description for the youngest audience without losing any of the captivating detail for the older ones. This is the ideal time to share this story as the date of Al-’Isra’ wal-Mi‘raj is fast approaching and with it the end of the sacred month of Rajab – bringing us ever closer to Ramadan.

Listen to this story with your children in the car, huddled up together in your favourite chair, at bedtime or anywhere really. Let us know if you and your kids like what you hear and also if you think it would be beneficial to make this a regular feature. Enjoy and may it bring you joy.

This was so beautiful and well explained while being so authentic. My kids and I throughly enjoyed it. Please do more of these!! My children ages 3.5 and 4.5 were so engrossed and loved learning and discussing it with me. May Allah swt reward you for sharing this gem with us! 🤲🏻❤️

I am so happy I found this beautifully heartfelt narrated audio rather than just putting my kids in fron of a video. So discriptive. It gave me great ideas to follow up activities. thank you

Sumaya, is it possible to get a transcription of your Isra wal Miraj story. I loved your narration, and I would like to use the same story for my Isra wal Miraj party tomorrow. Is it possible to get the transcription?

    Regards,

    Samina

Do you have a transcript for the audio? I seem to be having technical issues (the sound is very low) and my five year old is insistent she’d prefer to read.

    Loved it!
    Please do keep them coming!
I would love it if you could make it a regular feature.
I will listen to this with my son and daughter (13 and almost 11).
I hope they will enjoy it at bedtime, In Sha Allah.
With so much junk out there for our children to absorb, this is absolutely precious and much needed to make our young ones come back to our beautiful faith.
I will be looking out for the next one In Sha Allah soon!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I’m going to have to find the right time to have my almost 4 year old focus for this (he is full of life and tends to need the in-person or visual experience) but I absolutely loved your narration and will listen to it together with my son every year inshallah! Also this is the day of his Islamic birthday so to us it has one more layer of awesomeness 🙂 I might even get inspiration from your story and narrate my own in-person version of it with some crafts or pictures… thank you Sumaya!
